Stop Lying to the Brides

Posted by Diva on May 14th, 2009

Maybe I wrote about this before and maybe I didn’t but now is as good of a time as ever to share this story.

Dear brides and friends of brides, let’s all take a pledge of honesty.

Way back when I went to the bridal salon I happened to see a lady trying on dresses. She had a few friends with her and they were all very excited.

The lady comes out in the strapless dress that looks absolutely horrendous on her. Her breasts are too big for a strapless and her back fat is hanging out of the back.

I stood there with my mouth wide open not because of how she looked, but because of her friends reactions.

“Wow, oh my goodness, you look so good!”

See, this is why I don’t have friends. Stop lying to people!

I wanted so badly to say something, but I didn’t because I wasn’t in the mood to fight. I hope someone had the heart to tell her not to buy that dress.

Seriously, people stop lying.

Everyone does not need to wear a strapless dress and everyone certainly doesn’t need to wear a dress that is low cut in the back. Embrace your curves but don’t go to your wedding looking like a fool.

Bridemaids and maid of honors don’t be afraid to say, “lets try something else because that’s not a good look”.

THAT’s why you should bring your mother with you!

I could not agree more. And I also agree with Dee- mothers always tell the truth (even if we don’t necessarily want them to).
