5 Things I Learned During My First Year of Marriage
This post is a few months late and really I could almost change it to say 5 Things I’ve Learned During My First Two Years of Marriage, but I’m leaving it as is.
5. It’s important to think about “home management” as much as it is “wedding planning” and “career advancement”.
4. Commitment and respect are key because disagreements can be really frustrating and pull out your selfish side. But you can get through it. This is marriage we are talking about- no exchanges no refunds!
3. You can sit and have a 15 minute conversation before you realize that you two are talking about two entirely different things. Thus, communication is essential.
2. Be careful of the questions you ask other couples because yes, people are essentially inquiring about your sex life when they ask “when are you going to have children?”
1. Leave and cleave isn’t cliché! It’s so vital to maintaining a healthy relationship. Parents are important but it’s good to have time away to focus on this new stage of your life.
