Frugal Wedding Ideas
I don’t mind using the word cheap but sometimes people get the wrong idea. There is a big difference between being cheap and being frugal. So let’s just call these ideas frugal, not cheap.
First, let’s start with what we have already covered.
Now let’s get to the juice.
- If you have royal ideas on a paupers budget, just stop it. Spend your money on what matters most- the necessities. (Here’s a clue- releasing doves, $7,000 invites, renting 12 limos, and spending $10,000 on flowers are not necessities. Think- venue, marriage license, clergy, dress, invitations)
- Consider renting your dress or borrowing from a friend. I know, everybody wants their own. But guess what, my dress is sitting in a box right now and has been for over a year. Sometimes I look at it and wonder how much money I would have if I would have invested the cost of the dress.
- Shop for bargains; duh.
- Consider DIY on some things. Food (with help from relatives, invitations, favors (if you must waste money on something) )
Good luck future brides and may you spend more time planning your marriage than you do your wedding!

Okay, it happened to me. I opened a wedding magazine, was over-powered by estrogen, and became a bridezilla. BUT after I said “I do” I realized — we could have gotten married in my backyard or at the justice of the peace and it would have been a-ok. The only necessity is the groom (or the bride, if that’s your thaing).
