It’s no secret that I’m a fan of keeping it simple, especially when it comes to weddings.

I hate to use this cliché phrase but with this economy I especially don’t see the need to go into $40,000 worth of debt for a wedding.

MSN has run a piece called Why Small Weddings Rock. So if you are feeling a little embarrassed about your choice to have a small wedding- don’t be.

MSN’s reasons include:

• It’s all about you
• You can have your dream wedding
• Your fiancé will thank you
• You’ll have more fun
• It gives you an excuse to invite only those you love.

I’d like to add to the list by saying small weddings:

• Allow you to focus more on your marriage as opposed to a one-time event
• Save you money that you probably don’t have anyway
• Save you the stress of dealing with silly details that won’t matter a month after your wedding
