Traditional Wedding Anniversary Gifts

Posted by Diva on October 10th, 2008

My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary this week.

Sometimes I can be old fashioned- sometimes- so I wanted us to exchange traditional anniversary gifts.

Traditionally the first year gift is paper, so I told him that we’d give paper gifts and let’s see who’d be the most creative.

I’ll admit, he surprised me as I didn’t think he’d remember to do it let alone come up with a creative gift. So imagine my surprise when he hands me a handmade bouquet of flowers in a very pretty cotton chinese take out-type box.

“How did you learn how to do this?!” I shrieked. “Where did you get this idea?” I guess I have to give him some credit, men can be crafty too.

As for my gift, I made a scrapbook which chronicled our first married year from the wedding to our anniversary. Of course, the anniversary page was blank except for a few embellishments.

Traditional anniversary gifts can really bring out the romance and creativity. Here’s a list of the traditional wedding anniversary gifts.
