Two Maids of Honor and a Year to Plan?

Stop Whining and Start Preparing

Posted by Diva on June 13th, 2008

Your bridesmaids are stressing you out.

The dresses aren’t right.

You have to go to another fitting.

Umm, sorry, this wedding coordinator is not going to work.

Future Mother-In-Law has now turned into current witch-in-law.

You can’t agree on the menu.

The flowers won’t be just right.

Oh the day in the life of a bride.

But admist all of this, all I have to say is what have you done for your future marriage?

Because after the bridesmaids are gone, the dresses are put away, the wedding coordinator is on to her next gig, the food has been digested and the flowers have wilted; all you will have is you and the person you are spending the rest of your life with.

I hope you’ve taken as much time to prepare for the rest of your life as you have preparing for one short day.

Good luck.

Was this written with me in mind? =)

I get lots of emails.

:)

Well said! I just wrote a blog about how a bride can avoid being a bridezilla, and I totally agree with you that the key it to realize that your wedding is just one day, while your married life is just beginning.

I agree! It’s not worth it for one day out of the rest of your life. So, I hope both bride & groom has thought about what happens next..their future together.

I say plan and prepare in equal measure. Take time to think about WHAT you are doing WHY you are doing it and WHAT it MEANS to you-what value it has in your life. Work out your intentions-get real mental clarity and from that comes confidence, calm and an ability to deal with the practical things. And, go with the flow-find the fun and realise that planning your wedding is a great, great privilege!
