Of all the things that could go wrong on your wedding day, would you ever think that somehow your wedding might get accidentally canceled?
From BBC News “Sam Gilford, 34, and Anne Campbell, 37, spent almost £6,000 on a wedding and four-week holiday in Cancun. But just two days before the ceremony, the hotel informed them they had no record of their wedding.Travel agents Thomson Worldwide admitted they had accidentally cancelled the wedding.”
Ouch. That hurts. You would think that since this couple had family and friends flying out that someone would try to help them out. Maybe secure them a different location, perhaps make accommodations to be open during an off time, but nope.
“The couple were offered alternative dates for the following week, but their families would not have been able to attend…The couple have been sent a cheque by Thomson for £2,226, totalling the cost of the wedding package and the unused nights at the hotel.”
Normally I am not in favor of suing people but come on. That was the best they could do? The lady spent her “wedding day” in her room crying and watching other people get married.
Maybe she wasn’t resourceful enough because I would have gotten married that day, believe me, someone would have been performing my wedding ceremony.
