I Never Read Bridal Magazines
I’ve been put on the PR email list of some bridal magazines. That’s nice, I guess, but the journalist in me can’t help but think that if they want me to mention an upcoming feature or such, the publicist really should know that they have to tailor their pitch. I don’t think anyone reads this blog to find out about the latest in flower trends because that’s not what I talk about. PR lesson 101- tailoring the pitch.
I thought I’d be nice and just read over the information anyway and it got me thinking about how I’ve never read a bridal magazine. I did pick up that People magazine issue about celebrity weddings; but other than that, I’ve never touched one. I suppose that had to do with my goal to not turn into some power-crazed, annoying, this is my perfect day, bridezilla. Or maybe I’m just not interested in that type of literature. I’d rather read Kiplinger’s
No, I am not saying that reading bridal magazines makes you a bridezilla, I’m saying that it would have made me a bridezilla.
But then again, maybe I was a scary bride monster anyway…in my own way.
