I was browsing some of the posts on a Facebook group and came across some of the most obnoxious comments I’ve ever read in my life. Though I was disgusted, I wasn’t surprised because I realized long ago that weddings are becoming more and more about the “party” and less about the actual marriage.
Here are some of the comments from these stupid fine college students regarding open bars:
“There is no point. Period. End of story. If you are gonna have a 50,000 dollar wedding but not sping [sic] for the extra 5 grand for an open bar, you are a sorry cheap person.”
“Nothing says “failed marriage” like “dry wedding.” A true American tragedy.”
“I think we should all vow to never go to a dry wedding reception. Strength in numbers. America will catch on. Perhaps our slogan can be: “We drink to ensure your marriage lasts” or something. Single tear.”
Idiots.
It wasn’t a total disappointment; at least someone had sense: “My moral take on it is…. can you not have fun without alcohol? Can’t celebrate your friends’ happiness without it? Most importantly, *why* is anyone *obligated* to buy you booze?”
