Keep Those Loud, Obnoxious, Snot Dripping Kids Away From “My Day”

Posted by Diva on July 7th, 2007

I’m on the fence about the no kids at my wedding thing. On one hand, people have a right to invite whoever they want; on the other hand brides whose reasoning is that “I don’t want kids ruining my day” tends to annoy me. It’s like- get over kids.jpgyourself.

I am not having children at my wedding but that is simply due to the location. It is not child friendly at all and I am having an evening wedding. But if it was held somewhere else I’d be happy to invite kids.

So how do you go about telling people to leave the rugrats at home?

Word of mouth is best. Simply tell people.

Some people say put “Adult Reception” or “Adult Event” on the invite but I think when you look back at your invite 10 years later you’ll wish you wouldn’t have written that because it takes away from the overall theme.

Besides, the only people who are invited are the peoples whose names appear on the invite. So all you future wedding guests take note; if the invite says: Mr. and Mrs. Smith then that is who is invited…don’t tag on little Ronnie because unless his name is on the outer (or inner envelope) they don’t want him there!
